While each Corner has three colors, so far we have only been paying attention to Yellow, and bringing that color to the Top face of the Cube. Now you will look at the other two colors of these Corners, and see if the colors match on the other sides of the Corners. (Just a reminder, we are still ignoring all pieces except for the four Corners you are currently working on.)

DEMONSTRATION:

SETUP:

Either they will all match to each other (congrats, you can skip to the next step), or none of them match (in which case it doesn't matter how you position your cube to proceed, but you will end up doing this step twice), or one of the sides match.

Keeping Yellow still on the top with these four Corners, If one of the side colors match, position your cube so that the matching color is facing the back away from you. If none of the side colors match, after you have done this step one side will match.

PLACEMENT:

Do Formula B.

Now without rotating the cube, at first glance it appears you have undone your previous work. This is not the case.

Use Formula A to bring Yellow back up to the top as before. Because all four of the Yellow Corners are already on the Top Row of the Cube, you don't have to examine to see if they are where they can be acted upon. When Yellow is on Top Face, as before slide the top until an incorrect piece is in the top-front-right position and continue with Formula A to bring the Yellow Up.

RESET:

When all four Corners have Yellow on top again, return to SETUP above, and reassess how the cubes relate to each other regarding matching sides.

Repeat this step as needed until the Top four Corners are correct in relation to each other, matching the side colors of the Yellow Corners.

We begin with Corners, because this is common to all complexity Cubes. When working with Corners, we will be ignoring all other Cube pieces, i.e. Edges and Centers.

The first Color we will work with is Yellow, and the first goal is to bring all the Corner pieces that have Yellow (there are four of them) to the Top row, with the Yellow color on the Top Face.

We have a Formula that will swap and rotate the two Corners that are located in the Top-Front-Right space (under your right thumb as you hold the cube in your hands) and the Corner directly below that, in the Down-Front-Right space. In order for this to be advantageous, we want to begin by setting up the Cube so that one of the four Yellow Corners will begin in one of those two spots before we do our movement.

DEMONSTRATION:

SETUP: Examine the two Corner pieces pictured. Is there a Corner piece with Yellow in one of the two positions? If no, Twist the bottom Row by quarter turns until the answer is yes.

If Yellow is already on the Top Face in the Top-Front-Right space, Twist the Top Row by quarter turns until an unsolved piece is in that spot. If Yellow is the top color on all the top four Corners, this step is completed, move to the next step.

PLACEMENT:

Begin with an unsolved Corner piece in the Top-Front-Right space (under your right thumb as you hold the Cube in your hands), and a Corner Piece with Yellow in either that space or the Corner directly below it.

Do Formula A as shown. Continue until the Yellow Color has made its way to the top face.

RESET:

When the Yellow is on the Top Face, Return to SETUP above. Continue until Yellow is on the Top Face for all four top Corners, then proceed to next step.

As with all other times we used Formula B, we are using the Top Row and two Columns.

For this step we amend Formula B to allow the Cube to dictate which columns are used. To see how the standard Formula B works, see the Images below.

DEMONSTRATION:

SETUP:

Choose any Center piece that is misplaced. Hold the Cube so that piece is on the Front and the Face that has the Color on that piece is on Top so that that piece will be moved from the Front to the Top.

There are four places on the Top where that piece can be placed. The first Row movement will be to line up an advantageous incorrect piece on the Top Face into the same Column of your Active piece.

PLACEMENT:

(First UP) Move up the Column that has the Active Piece, moving that piece to the top. Twist the Top Row to move that piece into another Column. (Second UP) Where that piece is now is the second column you move up. Reverse the Top Row from the previous turn, and (First DOWN) move your first column Down. Again reverse the Top Row, and (Second DOWN) move your second Column Down.

(NOTE: Because your Corners and Edges were done first, the colors on these other pieces provide reminders for you in case you get confused as to which columns are supposed to go down when, because you are lining up your Bottom Color on the Front so it can be placed Down again.)

RESET:

Reposition the Top Row as needed. Return to SETUP above and continue and repeat until all Center pieces are correct.

NOTE: These Images demonstrate the Pieces which will swap with the standard Formula B.
